Benjamin Reed is a 2010 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering. After deliberating between going to graduate school for engineering or law school, he ultimately followed in his father’s footsteps and obtained a law degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2014. He is licensed to practice in all state courts in Tennessee. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Blount County Bar Association, and the Knoxville Bar Association.
Mr. Reed was born and raised in Blount County. After graduating high school, he knew that the University of Tennessee was the only option for him due to his love for the area. After choosing law school for his graduate work, it only made sense to return to Blount County and begin his professional career by practicing with his father. Mr. Reed began clerking with Reed & Hickman during his first summer of law school and continued clerking with the firm every summer after that. Once he graduated from law school, Mr. Reed passed the Tennessee bar and began his practice with Reed & Hickman.
Mr. Reed immediately began focusing his practice on criminal law and family law. Mr. Reed’s educational background in engineering provides him with a unique perspective and analytical approach to client’s issues. Additionally, Mr. Reed has a strong support network at Reed & Hickman with over 30 years combined experience between Phil Reed and Mike Hickman. Mr. Reed is looking forward to expanding his litigation and trial experience by serving the people of Blount County for many years to come.
